Enterprise is a town in Oneida County, Wisconsin, United States. The unincorporated community of Enterprise is located in the town. The Town is surrounded by the Towns of Pelican, Schoepke, Elcho and Parrish in Langlade County, and Harrison in Lincoln County, as well as, being part of Oneida County.
History
The Town of Enterprise is a small, rural, recreationally based community where friendly people enjoy a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. This rural setting is set in a natural environment that provides ample opportunities for boating, fishing, hunting, swimming, and other lake or woods based experience.
The people of Enterprise envision a future where the peaceful atmosphere and natural environment we so enjoy are preserved through land conservation, shoreline protection, and management of development so that “the lake and the woods will always be there for the future enjoyment of everyone.” We envision a town that will improve and maintain the appearance of development and manage the density of use and development on our lakes and streams. There will be a place for commercial and industrial development to provide for jobs and the economic prosperity of the Town, as well as affordable housing so that the elderly, or other fixed income residents, can continue to share what the Town of Enterprise has to offer.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 58.9 square miles (152.6 km2), of which, 56.7 square miles (146.8 km2) of it is land and 2.2 square miles (5.8 km2) of it (3.80%) is water.

The Town of Enterprise contains the Enterprise Block of Oneida County Forest. Over half of the Town is within county forest.
The Enterprise Unit of the Oneida County Forest includes a three-acre esker covered with red pine, a major natural feature. Pelican Lake is a 3,585-acre lake located on the tension line between the boreal and deciduous forest, known for wildflowers, including lady slipper, wild ginger, ginseng, and jack-in-the-pulpit. Pelican Blue Heron Rookery located on forty-acres of DNR trust land.
Park or Park-like facilities within the Town of Enterprise include picnic tables and about five-acres of land surrounding the Community Building and a boat access at the west end Pelican Lake, known as Keeler Landing. Much of the town is County forest that includes a number of recreational facilities: a state funded snowmobile trail, an off-road ATV trail, the Enterprise Primitive Ski and Snowshoe Trail, as well as the County-run Enterprise Campground and the Bass Lake Boat Landing.

Enterprise is about 37,791 acres and has 12 lakes. Most of the town is forested, much in County Forest. Enterprise is part of the Northern Highland geomorphic region with a glacial landscape that includes gently rolling, rounded, forested hills rising above adjacent marshy areas.
Pelican Lake
Pelican Lake offers some of Wisconsin’s finest fishing and boating lakes, including Pelican Lake. At 3,585 acres and a maximum depth of 39 feet, Pelican Lake is one of the largest in the county. The large weedbeds of Pelican Lake are famous for holding trophy-size northern pike and musky. The lake is also well known for its walleye fishing. During the fall, the musky fishing on this lake is phenomenal.
Several entertainment options are available in the Pelican Lake Area. Mole Lake Casino is located within a short drive of Pelican Lake, as is the Antigo Bass Lake Golf Club.
Visitors can choose from seven different restaurants, ranging from friendly taverns serving burgers to restaurants specializing in juicy steaks. Lodging in the Pelican Lake Area includes resorts, campgrounds, cottages and cabins.
Bass Lake. Bass Lake is a 60 acre lake located in Oneida County. It has a maximum depth of 21 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. Fish include Panfish and Largemouth Bass.
Shingle Mill Lake. Shingle Mill Lake is a 44 acre lake located in Oneida County. It has a maximum depth of 10 feet. Fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike.
Silver Lake. Silver Lake is a 35 acre lake located in Oneida County. It has a maximum depth of 29 feet. Fish include Panfish and Largemouth Bass.
