Exploring the Minocqua Area

Besides exploring the shops & restaurants in & around Minocqua – visitors to the area have a choice of ways to explore nature as well. The Bearskin State Trail offers miles to hike or ride bikes, the trail crosses lakes & hugs their shorelines, takes you through tall pines, & is easily accessible from downtown. The Wildwood Wildlife Park has been a zoo in the Northwoods for over 50 years. Visitors to the zoo can spend an entire day interacting with animals from around the world – even feeding “Bear Juice” to the bears and hand-feeding the deer, camels, sheep, pigs, and goats. The safari ride is the highlight of the experience and a perfect way to end the day. Visiting the Northwoods Wildlife Center is also a must. The Wildlife Center is a non-profit animal rescue that offers guided tours through the property to learn about eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, and turtles. Minocqua has plenty of woods, water, and wildlife to add to anyone’s Northwoods adventures.
