Oneida County and the neighboring Northwoods of Wisconsin have everything you need, including relaxation. The communities of Tomahawk, Minocqua, Rhinelander, and Three Lakes, as well as the nearby communities of Hazelhurst, Lake Tomahawk, and Pelican Lake, come together to make one inviting destination that has been welcoming travelers from all over the Midwest for more than a century.

Bicyclists can pick from 13 different trails in Oneida County, including semi-paved trails like the Bearskin State Trail and single-track trails like the Mud Lake Trail System. The popular Raven Trail is one of eighteen hiking paths spanning more than 200 miles.
Cross-country skiers can enjoy excellent groomed tracks such as Washburn Lake County Trail, Schlect Ski Trails, and Nose Lake County Trail during the winter. Just east of Rhinelander are the CAVOC-Cedric Vig Outdoor Classroom Trails. Minocqua Winter Park is one of Wisconsin's best cross-country skiing destinations.
Oneida County has some of the best fishing and boating in the Midwest, in addition to great trails. Oneida County is located in a region with the world's fifth-largest concentration of freshwater lakes. There are 1,129 lakes in the county, totaling 68,447 acres of open water. These waters are well-known for excellent walleye, musky, and smallmouth bass fishing.
Paddlers can paddle across tree-lined lakes, vast flowages, and winding rivers. The Tomahawk River, Wisconsin River, Pelican River, and the spectacular Willow Flowage are all popular canoe and kayak destinations.
Oneida County offers a variety of excellent alternatives for motorized trail users. The county is covered with a network of more than 1,000 miles of snowmobile routes. The grooming snowmobile clubs are among the most active snowmobile clubs in the country. ATV trails in Oneida County provide a thrilling outdoors experience and link to hundreds of miles of regional trails.
Oneida County's communities are all distinct, with events that reflect their personalities. Snowshoe Baseball games are held during the summer at Lake Tomahawk. An annual event for art enthusiasts is an Art Fair on the Courthouse Lawn in Rhinelander in June. Every August, the Pig in the Pines Rib Fest brings barbeque lovers to St. Germain. Stovewood Daze, held in August in Pelican Lake, is a wonderful community
celebration.
Hundreds of motorcyclists attend Tomahawk's Fall Ride every September. The Minocqua Area’s Beef-A-Rama in September is a really one-of-a-kind festival that you must see to believe. Each October, cranberry marsh tours entice visitors to Three Lakes. Tommy O's NorthernStars Playhouse in Hazelhurst brings Broadway to the Northwoods all year.
